The Comprehensive school “Alfonso Casati” it’s a group of five schools :

• Nursery School “De Amicis”

• Nursery School “Andersen”

• Primary school “Casati”

• Primary school “Frank”

• Lower Secondary “Carlo Urbani”

It’s located in Muggiò, a small city ( 23.000 inhabitants ) in the area of Milan, near Monza and the Brianza district, in the northern part of Italy.

Our school “Mission” is :

“A school where all the pupils are welcome and where they are guided through the learning process to get the right choice for their future”

The most important school aims are :

• personal growth of every student

• developement of competences and skills

• developement of personal autonomy and critical sense

• counseling in the choice for future studies

• vocational guidance

The rate of non Italian or non E.U. students in the school is about 10%. To help them the school developed several inclusive strategies involving both families and local Authorities :

• First welcome commission

• Italian language tutoring

• Starting interview with parents and students

• Personalized curriculum

• Training courses for teachers

Another important activity carried on in the school is the teaching of European citizenship in the curriculum through many European projects as :
